I have always considered myself a documentary photographer, attempting to capture the subtle, transient moments we so often overlook. The ideal image should convey emotion, depth and a genuine sense of spontaneity.
I admire the work of many great photographers - Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Doisneau, Jack Leigh and Roy DeCarava, to name a few. I have worked under a handful of photographers who have influenced me a great deal, all emphasizing the importance of finding passion in what it is that I enjoy photographing.
For me personally, photography is a way to make sense of the ordinary and find meaning in the simplest observations. I try to avoid creating images that are contrived or that lack feeling. My style is unconventional and my vision is definitely my own.
